"To be outdoors with the dogs in some of the most beautiful open spaces in the country, spending each day learning more about every dog's unique personality, and teaching/learning positive training techniques gives me immense joy. I wouldn't want to be doing anything else."
Jenny grew up on a farm in Iowa. After a childhood spent with a menagerie of animals, she decided early on that animal care would be her chosen life-path.
As a teenager Jenny worked as an Animal Care Attendant at the East Hampton Veterinary Clinic. After moving to New York, she lived above the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons taking care of the animals, in exchange for room and board. Over the years she's volunteered at many shelters and animal sanctuaries. Through these experiences, Jenny has developed a unique understanding of a variety of amazing animals and enhanced her expertise in animal behavior.
Appropriately, Jenny started a dog walking business called Doody Calls (now DogGrrl) shortly after moving to the Bay Area. Since her start in 1997, Jenny has greatly enjoyed her career as a well-respected dog walker and pet sitter. She is certified in Animal First Aid and CPR, is a graduate from the The Marin Humane Society's Canine Behavior Academy, is a graduate from the Dog Walking Institute at dogTEC, and has attended several Puppyworks lectures and workshops, including the Alpha Bitch Conference.
Jenny splits her time between Healdsburg and San Francisco with her three dogs; Talula (AKA Lucy), a senior Airedale-mix; Eddie, a male Papillion-mix; and Tank a female Chihuahua-mix. While accompanying Jenny on the job, they enjoy walking with all their client-friends. |
